On September 18 at 6:35 PM, Harrison Police were dispatched to a shoplifting call at Seabras that was still in progress. Officers arrived and observed one male running from the
store with stolen items. Officer Matt
Murphy chased and captured the suspect. Store personnel then alerted Officers Al Pearson, Jamie Sackerman and
Dan McCheseny to a second suspect that turned out to be working in conjunction
with the first suspect. It was
discovered that both offenders had shoplifted from Seabras in Newark, earlier in
the day. Additionally, one suspect was
found to have numerous warrants from other jurisdictions. The two males in their 40’s, both from
Elizabeth were arrested and charged with shoplifting and related crimes before
being transported to the Hudson County Jail.
