On October 6, 2019, at approximately 8:30 PM, PO Murphy and PO Lecca
responded to a motor vehicle accident in the area of 3rd Street and
Warren Street. Upon arrival, police observed a vehicle on the sidewalk of
Warren Street, facing the wrong direction. The vehicle had heavy front
end damage and the driver was slumped over the steering wheel. Police
stated that the driver was unresponsive but breathing and police tried multiple
times to wake the driver. The driver had an overwhelming odor of
alcoholic beverages emanating from his mouth and his clothing. His
clothing was mussed and when he finally became responsive, the driver could not
stand. The driver was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence
and transported to the hospital for medical attention. The 23 year old male
was released from police custody at the hospital to a responsible party and
issued multiple summonses.
