On August 16, 2020, at approximately 1 AM, police were dispatched to 7th Street and William street on a hit and run accident. Upon arrival, police observed that the vehicle that struck a parked vehicle, was left abandoned at the location of the accident. A witness provided a description of the driver that fled the location and police were able to stop him a block away from the accident. The driver admitted to driving, striking a parked vehicle and leaving the scene. Police conducted the Standard Field Sobriety Tests and upon completion of the tests, the driver was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence. He was processed, issued multiple tickets, and later released to a responsible party.
