On March 18 at 1AM, Officer Matt Murphy was assigned to Crime Suppression and patrolling in the area of Harrison and Franklin Avenues when he observed a vehicle swerving from the center lane towards parked vehicles. The vehicle attempted to turn onto Schuyler Ave travelling into the opposite lane of traffic. Officer Murphy conducted a motor vehicle stop and was backed up by Officer Jamie Sackerman. The driver, a 38 year old Harrison man, had slurred speech and fumbled with his driver’s license. He was unable to properly perform any road side tests. He was arrested and processed at headquarters. He refused to submit breath samples and was charged with DWI and received numerous motor vehicle summonses.
