On October 3 at 3AM, Officer Pat Triano was on patrol near First Street when he observed a Kearny male, 27, whom he knew to be wanted by the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office. He notified dispatch of his intent to stop the suspect and confirmed the warrant. As he exited his vehicle, and notified the suspect of the warrant, the male ran. Officer Triano chased the suspect a short distance and observed that he began discarding items along the way. Sergeant John Brown, Officers Marc Silva, Elizabeth DeLacruz and Michael Gregory arrived to assist. The suspect was placed under arrest and the responding officers recovered vials of suspected crack cocaine, wax folds of heroin and hypodermic needles. The suspect was processed charged with drug offenses and transported to the Hudson County Jail.
